Cybersecurity is a foundational pillar of working with a quality virtual assistant. Virtual assistants must be able to safeguard their passwords, files, and proprietary information, and more importantly, that of their clients’.
The number one tool I recommend to each of my clients is LastPass. This invaluable tool has a free plan that will allow you to securely store all of your passwords within a “vault” accessible by using a master pass-phrase. It will also auto-generate passwords, if you wish, for increased security.
If I have a client who wants me to complete a task for them, but they don’t feel comfortable sharing their passwords with me, I recommend moving forward with a very affordable premium version of LastPass. This option allows them to share access with me, for a designated period, without sharing the passwords for a particular site. It’s ultimately a win-win for both of us and minimizes the need for resetting passwords. Two-factor authentication is also an added feature I value.
Why risk your client’s identity or risk someone discovering your cheat sheet of passwords? LastPass is a critical cybersafety step for all!
